Specifics
All dogs 6 months of age or older must be licensed, (Massachusetts General Law Chapter 140, Section 137) evidence of a current rabies vaccination must be provided. Dogs are licensed at the Office of Town Clerk and run from April 1 to March 31 of each year. Licenses may be purchased after February 1.
Any dog not licensed by June 1 will be charged a late fee in addition to the cost of the license and tag. This fee will increase as of July 1 and again on August 1 if the dog remains unlicensed.
Dog owners age 70 or older will not be charged a license fee, but will be charged late fees if applicable.
